Sam has over 20 years of experience with guitar, bass, and voice, and 10 years with ukulele. He began as a self-taught musician with a strong passion for songwriting and later expanded his music theory knowledge through courses at Grossmont, Cuyamaca, and Mesa Colleges. His performance journey began in 2007, when he started playing bass and singing harmonies in his high school church band. That same year, he also performed as a tenor/baritone in the advanced choir, Bel Cantos. Since 2018, Sam has been active as a recording artist in several rock and pop projects. Sam’s teaching career began by giving bass lessons to friends, and the positive feedback he received for his patient and encouraging approach led him to pursue music education more formally. In addition to music, he teaches science to children ages 5–12, giving him extensive experience working with students of different ages and learning styles. Passionate about helping others grow in their creativity, Sam is dedicated to guiding students forward on their unique musical journeys.
