Megan teaches piano, beginning guitar, music theory, music history, and beginning ballet lessons online and near Carlsbad, CA. She is a graduate of Missouri Southern State University with her B.A. in Piano Performance, is member of the Joplin Area Piano Teachers Association, is a member of the Music Teachers Association of California, and is a certified Cecchetti Ballet Instructor. Megan regularly attends the The Piano Teachers Conference: NCKP. Megan believes that there are three main components to learning music: the instructor who gives the knowledge, the student who listens and reviews the concepts at home, and the parent/guardian who provides support. Megan aims for students to learn and to have fun at lessons. Megan believes that if students develop a love for music, they will be more engaged. Megan hopes to inspire students for a lifetime!
I’m a music mentor with decades of hands-on experience in piano, voice, guitar, and harmony. My work goes beyond teaching notes—I help students truly understand music, build confidence, and develop skills they can use for a lifetime. My approach is rooted in strong musical foundations and guided by thoughtful, selective use of modern tools—only when they genuinely support clarity, confidence, and meaningful progress. Lessons are practical, personal, and structured to meet each student where they are, whether they’re beginning their musical journey or refining existing skills. I focus on helping students play chords, accompany themselves, strengthen their musical ear, and connect technique with expression. Music should feel empowering, not overwhelming. My goal is to guide each student toward independence, enjoyment, and a deep, lasting relationship with music.
