Dr. Fil is a freelance music performer, educator, and arts administrator from Rochester Hills, Michigan. Over the past 23 years, Fil has mastered multiple different instruments and genres with experience playing in a wide variety of ensembles from jazz to classical. Fil first began taking piano lessons at age 5 and quickly began writing and arranging his own compositions which went on to win multiple awards from the Michigan PTA Reflections Program. Since then, Fil has performed at a number of studio recitals showcasing the works of Chopin, Liszt, Grieg, Schubert, Mozart, Satie and Bartók, and has performed in a number of pit orchestras playing organ and keyboard. Fil began playing trumpet in middle school and his talent has since gone on to be showcased, not only across the nation, but also on the international scene, captivating audiences in Australia, Canada, Germany, and England. Over his 15 year career, Fil has gone on to perform with such groups as the Detroit symphony youth orchestra, Five Lakes Silver Band, Rochester Symphony Orchestra, Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, Coronado Philharmonia, the La Jolla Symphony and Chorus and more. With a wealth of experience in various styles and genres, Fil's versatility enables him to connect with his students on a deeper level, instilling in them a love for music and a desire to explore its vast possibilities. Musical creativity, curiosity, and technical proficiency are the focus of Fil’s teaching. Fil holds his doctorate in musical arts from Louisiana State University where he also received a minor in music history. He received his masters in music from Michigan State University and holds his bachelors from Oakland University."Dr.Fil also offers ABRSM testing for students who are looking to get tested through this program.

Fangye S

Fangye is an accomplished classical violinist and dedicated educator with a passion for both performance and teaching. He has performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral artist throughout Asia, North America, and Europe, captivating audiences in prestigious venues, including the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Théâtre du Châtelet, Sanders Theatre, and Emerson Paramount Center. Fangye has showcased his artistic growth and technical prowess through 12 personal recitals during his academic and teaching journey. His talent has also earned him scholarships and fellowships at renowned festivals, including the Brevard Music Festival, Atlantic Music Festival, Endless Mountain Music Festival, China Europe Youth Orchestra Academy, and Celibidache Youth Orchestra Academy. Fangye holds a D.M.A. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, a G.P.D. from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and an M.M. and B.A. from the Tianjin Conservatory of Music. He has been mentored by esteemed musicians such as Eugene Purdue, Lynn Chang, Young-Nam Kim, Robert Bokor, and Wenning Guan. During his studies, he had further opportunities to work with Katie Lansdale, Kristopher Tong, Kurt Sassmannshaus, Joseph Genualdi, Joseph Swensen, Parry Karp, Lydia Artymiw, and the Lydian String Quartet. Formerly served as a violin faculty member, advisor for Student Union and Committee at Hebei University, as well as a judge for the Chinese Musicians Association Violin Certificate Advancement Program in China, Sun continues to be an active solo violinist and group instrumentalist in various genres; besides maintaining an active violin studio in the US. Fluent in English and Chinese, Sun passionately imparts his expertise to students of all ages and levels, holding workshops in both the US and China. Beyond his instrumental mastery, Sun's journey has also encompassed orchestral conducting, which he pursued during his doctorate minor studies. This unique experience fortified his understanding of music ensemble, allowing him to offer guidance to students while coaching and mentoring Youth Symphony Orchestras. Hailing from Baoding, China, Sun was born into a musical family and began his musical training at the age of six. Since then, he has dedicated himself to the violin. As a performer and pedagogue, he has over 30 years of playing and 15 years of teaching experience. Many of his students have found success in meeting their musical goals, whether it is getting into music schools, entering an orchestra, participating in a competition, or learning for personal enrichment. He currently resides in San Diego, California, with his serial entrepreneur and personal trainer wife. Apart from his musical engagements, he enjoys hiking, running, and sailing.

Kaylee B.

Kaylee began playing piano at the age of 14 and singing by age 16 which is when she realized she wanted to pursue music seriously. She began performing anywhere she could in local bands, theaters, churches, festivals, and in her school’s jazz band, show choir and chamber choir. She started her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance degree at the University of Redlands Conservatory of Music (classical music) for one year before transferring to the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA to complete her degree in the contemporary music field. Her studies covered a variety of genres including pop, rock, R&B, jazz, gospel, Latin, funk, and blues. While in school, she was the lead singer in traveling pop/rock band Scarlet Roads, playing live shows nights and weekends every week for six years straight throughout the US and as far as Southern Italy. The band recorded in world-renowned Westlake Studios and the famous Capitol Studios in Hollywood, CA with Grammy-Award winning producers Robert Cutarella and Francis Buckley. As a solo artist, Kaylee wrote and recorded her first solo album in Nashville, TN with Grammy Award-winning producer Keith Thomas, and songwriters Shelly Peiken and Steve Diamond. Some notable performances throughout her career include performing at Carnegie Hall in New York City and opening for Barry Manilow at the McCallum Theater. Her cover of “Happy Christmas (War is Over)” by John Lennon garnered 1 million views on Facebook. She is currently residing in Palm Desert, working on new music and teaching voice/piano lessons to fellow lovers of music!
