Privately, Marty plays chamber music trios and quartets such as Haydn, Beethoven, and Mozart. Marty also possesses an unusual combination of skills working with children – as a credentialed teacher he taught grades 4-8 in public school for 5 years, as an attorney he represented more than 1000 children in court and wrote 3 books about children and the law, and he has 7 grandsons. Steven

Steven, as his friends call him, is a vocalist, violinist, and songwriter hailing from Los Angeles, CA. From a young age, he developed an interest in the musical arts, starting with piano and voice. He took up the guitar in middle school and continued to expand his instrumental repertoire with cello and darbouka. At 17, he later picked up the violin after watching Celtic Woman perform songs from their album ‘A New Journey’. That experience alone encouraged him to learn musical styles including Chalga, Turkish, Arabic, Latin and Neo-Soul. His list of influences includes Mairead Nesbitt, Toni Braxton, Robert Glasper, Matthew Mayfield, Jay Nash, and David Ramirez. In 2012, Steven embarked on his songwriting journey by participating in local open mic nights in Long Beach, Newport, Seal Beach, and Ventura County. It was during those open mic nights that he decided to pursue full-time musician. As of this year, he is recording his first R&B project, set to be released in Fall 2019 while his debut single will be released in late 2018. As an instructor and violinist, he understands that playing such a fickle instrument can be challenging, so he encourages all his students to have patience and get to know their instrument first. During his spare time, he surfs, writes music, and reads articles on Men’s Fashion. He is currently pursuing an A.A. degree in Music Production and Songwriting at Orange Coast College.

Nicholas L.

Nicholas started playing the Violin when he was 7 years old and has been playing for the last 22 years. He was classically trained at the conservatory of Music in San Francisco and spent his younger years playing in small orchestras and symphonies. Nicholas had the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall with his youth orchestra. After a lot of time spent in the classical realm, he wanted to explore the reaches of the earth, playing in Jazz and Hip Pop bands in California, Rock bands in New York and the UK, as well as taking it upon himself to play in the streets of Italy, Prague and Spain. Whatever your niche is, Nicholas got it. My name is Laura and I’m from Romania. I come from a family of musicians. My father is a conductor, and my mother was a concert pianist. I'm a professional singer & violinist with more than 12 years of teaching experience! I was the founder, manager, lead vocalist and violinist for Duo Strings Cafe, an established Café Concert band in Bucharest. I performed in various Mariachi and pop / rock bands in Romania. I'm also an actress and played various opera and theater roles like the soprano Caterina Cavalieri in the "Amadeus " play. I offer singing & violin classes to students of all ages. I'm a vocal coach versed in various styles (pop, rock, Latino, jazz, etc.) I have been playing the violin since I was 5 years old. I've graduated with a Bachelor of Art in classical canto. It was always my dream to manage and teach in a music school, this is why I opened my own in Bucharest. It had 2 branches and a separate recording studio location. I love my job because of the satisfaction I get from witnessing my students' passion grow as they improve. During my singing classes the students learn how to breathe correctly. I will also teach them about proper posture, rhythm, articulation and train their ears. We will be able to differentiate and properly switch between voice registers, from chest voice, to head, mix, falsetto. I will also show them different voice "effects" like vocal fry, adding distortion, using twang, belting... During violin classes, i will start with some exercises focusing on technique, scales, rhythm and bow control. We'll brush up on our previous lessons, then we'll go through the homework till we finally get to the best part of our lesson: playing a song. The violin aids in keeping a straight posture and improves our hands dexterity. I look forward to seeing you in class!

Fangye is an accomplished classical violinist and dedicated educator with a passion for both performance and teaching. He has performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral artist throughout Asia, North America, and Europe, captivating audiences in prestigious venues, including the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Théâtre du Châtelet, Sanders Theatre, and Emerson Paramount Center. Fangye has showcased his artistic growth and technical prowess through 12 personal recitals during his academic and teaching journey. His talent has also earned him scholarships and fellowships at renowned festivals, including the Brevard Music Festival, Atlantic Music Festival, Endless Mountain Music Festival, China Europe Youth Orchestra Academy, and Celibidache Youth Orchestra Academy. Fangye holds a D.M.A. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, a G.P.D. from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and an M.M. and B.A. from the Tianjin Conservatory of Music. He has been mentored by esteemed musicians such as Eugene Purdue, Lynn Chang, Young-Nam Kim, Robert Bokor, and Wenning Guan. During his studies, he had further opportunities to work with Katie Lansdale, Kristopher Tong, Kurt Sassmannshaus, Joseph Genualdi, Joseph Swensen, Parry Karp, Lydia Artymiw, and the Lydian String Quartet. Formerly served as a violin faculty member, advisor for Student Union and Committee at Hebei University, as well as a judge for the Chinese Musicians Association Violin Certificate Advancement Program in China, Sun continues to be an active solo violinist and group instrumentalist in various genres; besides maintaining an active violin studio in the US. Fluent in English and Chinese, Sun passionately imparts his expertise to students of all ages and levels, holding workshops in both the US and China. Beyond his instrumental mastery, Sun's journey has also encompassed orchestral conducting, which he pursued during his doctorate minor studies. This unique experience fortified his understanding of music ensemble, allowing him to offer guidance to students while coaching and mentoring Youth Symphony Orchestras. Hailing from Baoding, China, Sun was born into a musical family and began his musical training at the age of six. Since then, he has dedicated himself to the violin. As a performer and pedagogue, he has over 30 years of playing and 15 years of teaching experience. Many of his students have found success in meeting their musical goals, whether it is getting into music schools, entering an orchestra, participating in a competition, or learning for personal enrichment. He currently resides in San Diego, California, with his serial entrepreneur and personal trainer wife. Apart from his musical engagements, he enjoys hiking, running, and sailing.

Cheyenne is a classically trained pianist, violinist, and composer based in San Diego, California. She is passionate about igniting a love for music in others and creating a positive environment that fosters creativity and a deep appreciation for music. Having been trained in a variety of methods by various instructors, she favors a holistic philosophy in her approach to teaching, and is devoted to tailoring a plan to what best resonates with the individual student, allowing them to flourish and reach their goals. She began her formal training at the age of six for piano and nine for violin, and has been composing ever since she was a child. She has completed all ten levels of MTAC's Certificate of Merit with Branch Honors, and has been invited to perform at several MTAC conventions, held for the top 2% of the program's students. My name is Ronica and I am a classically trained violinist based in San Diego, CA. I began studying violin at the age of four, and after 13 years of dedicated practice, music has become an integral part of my life. By my freshman year of high school, I had completed all 10 levels of MTAC’s Certificate of Merit, earning state recognition for my performances. My passion for performance has taken me to international stages, including the Burgos International Music Festival in Spain, where I spent two weeks in 2024 training with distinguished professors and performing solo, chamber, and orchestral works. Currently, I serve as concertmaster of the Del Norte High School Chamber Orchestra and am also the DNHS Orchestra President. Beyond performing, I am passionate about music education. I founded Jumpstart to Strings, a student-led initiative providing personalized string lessons to local elementary and middle school students. Alongside my personal teaching experience, this program has allowed me to develop four years of teaching experience, helping young musicians grow in skill and confidence. In my teaching, I prioritize creating an enjoyable and engaging learning experience while developing strong technical foundations.
